Seasonal Travel

Southern Africa has the same seasons as Australia. The time of year you choose to visit depends on the focus of your trip. South Africa is hot in summer and moderate in winter. Most regions have summer rainfall except the Cape which has winter rainfall.

In Southern Africa the winter months, May to September, are drier so the game is more easily spotted in the thinner grasses. However, you can get good viewing on either side of these months. In Botswana, the Okavango Delta is popular from April to October.
