As Vietnam is a long narrow country (1,650 km from north to south) it provides a variety of climates at the one time.
The north experiences four seasons. May to September is hot and humid and has most of its rain at this time. Late December to early March is winter experiencing grey cool drizzly days.
Central Vietnam from Danang to Nha Trang has a dry season, January to September with rain from October to mid- January.
Southern Vietnam has two seasons – wet (May to November when it rains for half an hour a day) and dry. The hottest months are February to late April.
If you are planning a trip from North to South then October and November is a good time to travel.
